Review - This film could have easily passed as a Sci-Fi Channel movie of the week. Instead, the film, produced by Gary Sinese, got it's shot at a theatrical run. Good for Gary.
Imposter's plot deals with a futuristic weapon builder who may or may not have been killed by an alien race that assumes control of a human and uses them as a walking bomb.
Vincent D'Onofrio comes in as the twisted military component that believes Sinese is an alien bomb and must therefore be destroyed. The bulk of the film details Sinese's attempt to prove himself human.
Imposter is really pulp sci-fi. Not exactly low grade but it feels a little dated. Imposter's resolution is not difficult to predict. And although my friend and I pegged it the ending gave us a bit more then we expected. IT was just enough that neither one of us could say that Imposter is a waste of time.
Actually the look of the film is at times engaging, the gadgets are pretty cool, and the acting is just fine. With a pair of surprises in Madeline Stowe and? (Alien Resurrection and TV's C.S.I.)
