One Line Review | - | Oh man, it's crap. |
Review - Final Destination 2 falls prey to the classic sequel curse. A successful horror film will garner big bucks for a sequel with less story, worse actors, and a higher body count. Well I'm not sure if the body count is higher than the original but the rest is true. This movie sucks. It's far more ridiculous than the first (although I highly recommend Final Destination) and lacks anything resembling the charm of the first film. Yes, I said charm. Where the first film made John Denver's 'Leaving on a Jet Plane' the most frightening thing in the universe, it's sequel's only purpose seems to be in how elaborate it can make it's death sequences.
As for elaborate...I wouldn't go so far as to think they're unique in any way but they do have their moments. And strictly speaking, it's these death sequences that make this film at all interesting or even watchable. Make it your sole purpose for seeing Final Destination 2 and you just might get your monies worth.
