Review - It's not that hard to imagine that Disney, the World Leader of Animation, would take so long to produce an all CGI animated movie. The reason why I say that is that it appears that Disney actually put forth some effort. Disney's animated film this year is the Eye Candy: Dinosaur. A $150 million cash cow. Disney however will need a little help to bring that revenue back home.
I won't bore you with details for it plays as much as any other Disney film. Save for Dinosaur has NO SONGS! Nor does it have the impact of Disney's more emotional work. Sorry, no crying kiddies. But it still has a message of hope for all ages and that being mean can get you eaten.
The cast and their characters are a little screwy. Della Reese was the only one I picked up on right away. I recognized Ozzie Davis' voice but couldn't place the face and Julianne Margulies fell into place at about the midpoint of the film. I don't remember hearing the names of the characters or the cast during the film at all; makes merchandising a little more difficult don't you think. Here's the rest of the cast: D.B. Sweeney, Joan Plowright, Max Casella, Alfre Woodard, Samuel E. Wright, Peter Siragusa.
Visually, worth your money and the typical Disney fare keeps everyone entertained. And NO SONGS! Did I say that already?
