Review - Amidst all the hype, the controversy, and the reality I found myself last night glued to a chair in a small downtown theater; constantly trying to convince myself if I looked up the image on screen would move up with me. This was not the case. Realizing this is a battle I'd never win I next found myself staring at the floor. Perhaps some subconscious partnership with the characters and their long and ultimately, deadly, road through the Black Hills Forest.
The Blair Witch Project is a feat I think largely unprecedented in the film industry today. I'm not just talking about making movies for an insignificant amount of cash. I'm talking about making one of the most alluring film experiences ever captured.
I can hear jaws hit the floor with that last statement but I'm coming from the avenue that everything I witnessed was REAL. Whether it is or not I cannot (or will not) say but what I liked best about this film is that it doesn't matter. This film is so effective that you'll find yourself asking a different question....Is it human?
The hype is REAL...The scares are STRONG...The tension, THICK...
This is one hell of a movie.
